Welcome back to the second half of the Summer Term. Learning Projects have a new layout with a daily task for: spelling; reading; spelling/phonics; writing and maths. They have been split in to individual year groups, still with a common theme across them all.

Books for Topics
With access to libraries, classrooms and bookshops limited for many,  Books for Topics have been busy finding some of the best online story times for children to access freely at home. The QR codes and links in the document link to story readings on YouTube and all of the books chosen are read aloud by their fabulous authors and illustrators. Story Time Online have book suggestions for ages 3-5, 5-7, 7-9 and 9-11.

Action for Happiness
Action for happiness have created a Joyful June Calendar with daily actions to help us look for what’s good even in difficult times. Keep Calm, Stay Wise & Be Kind.

The second digital “lockdown” issue provides support in the areas of education, entertainment, parenting, health and well-being during the Covid-19 outbreak.
It is full of resources and ideas to help with returning your child to school, home learning, pre-school play and has dozens of ideas for family activities and entertainment

 

Daily Teaching Material
If you want to access teaching material daily, we suggest the following resources:

Please look at the White Rose Maths resources. This is the Maths Scheme of work we follow in school so is the perfect choice. There is a daily lesson from Early Years to Year 6 with a short video showing you clearly and simply how to help your child to complete the activity successfully. To access worksheets which are now longer provided for free, please see this page

The Oak Academy is a virtual school providing 180 free lessons a week for children from Reception to Year 6. It is supported by various education organisations including the Sutton Trust, the Teaching Schools Council and is being backed by the DfE.

BBC Bitesize have daily lessons which have been created with teachers and other educational experts and feature a mix of videos, animations, practice activities, quizzes and games.
