Free access to ebooks

Learning through stories is a rich educational experience. This site brings familiar and less familiar stories to the home, free of charge. The eLibrary has over 550 books and has been accredited by the DfE.

Clicking the arrow will prompt you to set up an account. Your username will be your email address and you can set your own minimum 8-character password. 

Once done so, you will have access to the books for use via any web browser or through the dedicated app for Android and Apple devices. There is also have a video that can assist in the sign up process. 

You can then enter the magical world of high quality picture books, in two languages – English with French, or Spanish or Arabic or Mandarin or Polish… There are a further 32 languages to choose from.

Library Summer Reading Challenge

The Summer Reading Challenge, presented by The Reading Agency and funded by Arts Council England, encourages children aged 4 to 11 to set themselves a reading challenge. 

This year, Silly Squad, the Summer Reading Challenge 2020, will celebrate funny books, happiness and laughter. Children taking part in the challenge will join the Silly Squad, an adventurous team of animals who love to have a laugh and get stuck in to all different kinds of funny books!

The digital challenge is FREE to access, featuring games, quizzes and digital and downloadable activities to encourage children and their families to take part in reading related activities at home.

The Reading Agency have provided lots of information for parents about signing up for the challenge and this can be accessed from the Summer Reading Challenge website.

Virtual Rounders Games
In conjunction with National School Sport Week you can win yourself a Rounders Bat & Ball Pack. Five activities are detailed below. You can complete one per day or if you are feeling up to it, you can complete them all in one day.

All of the challenges can be completed with general items or specific sports equipment.

Please look at the White Rose Maths resources. This is the Maths Scheme of work we follow in school so is the perfect choice. There is a daily lesson from Early Years to Year 6 with a short video showing you clearly and simply how to help your child to complete the activity successfully. The Oak Academy is a virtual school providing 180 free lessons a week for children from Reception to Year 6. It is supported by various education organisations including the Sutton Trust, the Teaching Schools Council and is being backed by the DfE.

BBC Bitesize have daily lessons which have been created with teachers and other educational experts and feature a mix of videos, animations, practice activities, quizzes and games.
