Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
In September 2014, the Government made changes to the law for children and young people aged 0-25 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEN&D).
The new law will result in changes to the way parents and their children receive support from their local council, health and social care services and their child’s nursery, school or college.
Please click here for a letter from the Department for Education explaining some of these changes.
Stockport have also created a website which provides information, advice and support. It also lists the support and services your child will be able to access. For more information go to www.stockportinfo.co.uk and follow the link to the ‘Local Offer’
If you live in Derbyshire you may also wish to look at their ‘Local Offer’ here.
Our School Information Report, which is part of our statutory duty to cooperate with the local authority in the development of the local offer can be found by clicking the link below.
