Have you ever visited a school that makes you yearn for your childhood? Perhaps on visiting Mellor Primary School you might have that special thought!
We feel very fortunate to be part of a school that has its origin linked to the Mellor community since 1881. Mellor Primary is essentially a village primary school set in a beautiful rural landscape with a caring family atmosphere combined with the drive and commitment of a school of excellence.
To make our school the successful school that it is takes the involvement of the whole community. Children, parents, staff and governors have a genuine pride and love for this special place in which to learn. Indeed our school moto ‘Making People Shine’ was created by one of our children and has been embraced by the whole school.
Mellor Primary School is very much a school at the heart of the community. Presently we have a total of 226 pupils from nursery age to year 6.
We aim to educate the whole child; to prepare them for their next school; to help develop resourcefulness, resilience and the ability to work well with others as well as explore their individual skills. The ultimate aim is to prepare our children for an ever changing world and to be a good citizen in society.
Mellor is a fully inclusive school and we aim to make all children feel welcome and safe irrespective of race, creed, religious belief or impairment.
I hope you will find our website informative and helpful and a tool to support learning at home.
Should you wish to know more about our school, please contact me at school either by telephone or email. School visits are very much welcomed as I am always keen to share the practice and opportunities that we present to new and prospective parents and children.
